Puppy dog's tails
If you had a tail would you want it chopped off?
Well, puppy tails are often lopped off.
For reasons that are totally spurious
With logic tortuous and curious.
There's simply not a case to ever
Take a scalpel blade and sever
Tail from body. No sane vet
Could surely amputate, and yet
Tails mysteriously disappear
From newborn puppies year on year.
There's one solution to this mystery
That would soon make all docking history.
If showing tail less dogs was banned
Then almost overnight the hand
That slices off the tail would stop
And cease from giving tails the chop.
So, Kennel Club, please do stop lagging
You can set the tails a wagging!
